1. All need salvation: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
2. Salvation is available to all: "For 'whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"' (Romans 10: 13). Jesus said, "the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37).
3. To receive this free salvation, we must:
A. Confess our sins to the Lord: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (I John 1:9).
B. Repent of our sins (decide to forsake and turn away from them): "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out" (Acts 3:19).
C. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who paid the price for our salvation: "But these (things) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:3 1).
D. Receive Christ as Savior: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).
E. Be willing to acknowledge Christ publicly: "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 10:32).
4. When we receive salvation, our spirits are bom again, or recreated: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new" (II Corinthians 5:7).
5 . The decision to receive Christ is a personal one. No one else can make it for us, and God does not force us to choose His way. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him" (Revelation 3:20).
"Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve ... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15).
